Other Ways to help

 

Ways to Get Involved:

It takes many hands working together to get the homes completed. Several ways to show support and get involved with Habitat are:
 

  • Donate time by providing hands-on labor, both skilled and unskilled, at the project site
  • Pick up and deliver prepared meals to the project site
  • Prepare sandwiches or a meal for the volunteer workers lunch at the project site
  • Pick up and deliver supplies to the project site
  • Serve on committees
  • Make monetary donations
  • Become a supporter of the Help Build It campaign by pledging at least $25 at the groundbreaking of each new home
  • Recycle empty printer ink/toner cartridges, old cell phones, and used desktop or laptop computers
  • Donate land or construction materials.
  • Throw a birthday or anniversary party and instead of gifts, ask for donations to Scioto County Habitat for Humanity.
  • Ask your church to host a pancake breakfast.
  • Host a neighborhood corn hole tournament.
  • Ask your employer if you can have a casual dress work day. “Charge” employees $5.00 for the privilege to be casual.
  • Cut grass, rake leaves, shovel snow, baby sit for donations.
  • Ask your favorite restaurant to donate a portion of their proceeds for a day, week or month-Be sure to encourage everyone to eat there, we could even advertise it on our website!
  • For the person who has everything, make a donation in his/her name

Kroger Community Rewards Program

Did you know you can support Scioto County Habitat for Humanity when you shop at Kroger? The Kroger Community Reward Program provides financial support to non-profit organizations based on the money spent at Kroger stores by members enrolled in the program. It does NOT cost you anything and you do not lose your plus card discounts by enrolling in the program. It’s simple … just shop, swipe and earn!

 

Have your Kroger Plus Card handy and follow the step-by-step instructions provided at www.krogercommunityrewards.com to register.

 

When asked which nonprofit you would like to support, enter “Scioto County Habitat for Humanity” or our organization number: 84355.

 

Then shop at Kroger and watch your points add up!!

 

Once registered, it will take between 7-10 days before you will see, “At your request, Kroger is donating to Scioto County Habitat for Humanity”, listed at the bottom of your register receipt. A few items do not qualify for the rewards: alcohol, tobacco, Kroger gift cards, Green Dot prepaid cards, fuel, items purchased at the fuel center, lottery and promotional tickets, postage stamps and a few other items.

 

*Please note: you must re-register annually in May and again select Scioto County Habitat for Humanity to receive the rewards. If you do not already have a Kroger Plus card, they are available at any Kroger service desk.

 

Do not use your phone number at the register or your purchase will not count towards Scioto County Habitat for Humanity. Thank you for supporting Scioto County Habitat for Humanity.
